The money goes towards recipe testing, photos, editing, recipe development, videos, and of course hours and hours of research and work. My second project is a publication of my first food history article. I wrote on Crimean Tatar culinary culture, specifically the crucial role Crimean Tatar women played in preserving their identity through the practice of savory pie making. The culinary culture of Crimean Tatars has very little representation in food media especially here in the U.S. It is of utter importance that we help promote their culinary culture during this difficult time of oppression, forced occupation, and illegal annexation.
